Scribbles from the Heart #2

What is affection? What is love? How do someone differentiate between the two? Is it in the way one's heartbeat changes? Or, is it the way one begins to notice that person's presence? When can someone tell he or she has found the one? Is it after the tears have fallen? Or, is it when he or she begins to laugh more around that person than without that person?

Most importantly, where do love begin? Does it begin in the eyes of the beholder? Or, does it begin in the heart of strangers? Does love grow from shared interests and similarities? Maybe love form from bonds and friendships? Or, is love created over empathy and understanding? Maybe love resulted from pity? Which one is love? If both are love, then which one is TRUE love?

You don't know, do you? I don't know myself. If love is so complicated, then why do we even bother to engage ourselves with it? Why do we always have to get ourselves in situations that we can never pull ourselves out from unharmed? Are we really that naive? Or, are we really a bunch of desperate morons?

Fools in love, right?
